productions presents 'The Story of my Life'
an independent indie take on a teenage drama. This short film takes on the
genre conventions of the loss self identity and the harsh reality of cyber
bullying, as Charlie, a teenage boy relays the tragic events of his past which
results in a climactic suicide attempt.
The budget for 'The
Story of my Life' is in the vicinity of £400,000 and is expected to make a
profitable £600,000. The target audience is teenagers and young adults of both
genders, due to the protagonist being a teenager himself, resulting in audience
identification.
The film will be a 15 certified film due to sensitive
issue of suicide and references to alcohol and drug use. 'The Story of my Life' is the story of a teenage boy who becomes a
victim of cyber bullying as a result of his indifferences.
The sequence is from a personal narrative viewpoint, containing
some elements of non-diegetic voice over as he is recollecting on this chapter
of his life. The suicide attempt happens because of the constant bullying
alongside the protagonist struggle with depression. The suicide attempt is done
through an overdose.
To give the film a positive theme and message the
sequence will end with a voice over from the protagonist who informs the
audience of his failed attempt and how it has made him stronger. The sequence
occurs as the ending of the film.
